The State of Texas has adopted CPSC (US Consumer Product Safety Commission) into Law, effective August 28, 1995. The Playgrounds/Playground Equipment Standards Public Funds Act has amended the Health & Safety Code (Sec. 1, Chap. 756) by adding subchapter E:
"Publicly Funded Playground; When public funds are used, the equipment, installation and surfacing must meet the CPSC Handbook for Public Playground Safety."
